SOC 130 - Introduction to Criminology General Education Elective
3 Credits
This course provides an introduction to the study of crime, deviance, and crime control. Course material examines crime patterns and trends as well as topics such as white-collar crime, vice, drug use, organized crime, social deviance, and the depiction of crime in popular media and culture. Course material will examine crime measurements, criminal justice institutions, and major theoretical explanations for crime.
