Division of Health & Human Services

The Health and Human Services Division at the College of Eastern Idaho works with the State of Idaho’s Career and Technical Education Division (IDCTE) to deliver education designed to meet the needs in industry for trained healthcare and human services professionals.

Career Technical Education (CTE) programs connect industry and education.  Much of the workforce in the twenty-first century are and will be expected to have specific, industry-related skill sets in addition to skills in reading, math, and science.  Career technical programs are designed to provide basic academic foundations in addition to technical skills that are related to a specific field of study.  The program length can range from a few months duration for certificate programs up to a two-year applied associates (AAS) degree depending on the area of study.  Upon successful completion of a technical program, students are able to directly enter the workforce, pending certification exams and licensure in some fields of study.
