College of Eastern Idaho’s Associate of Arts in Business degree is the first milestone to a 4-year business degree. The program offers transferrable business core and general education credits, affordable education, flexible schedules, and a state-of-the-art education.

CEI follows the traditional business core model to give students a strong foundation in general business and general education best prepare our students to transfer to a university business program. Upon completion of CEI’ s Business Associate of Arts Degree, students will graduate core certified in general education and with a firm foundation in business core classes.
The businesses courses are designed to provide you with the necessary business core courses, including: accounting, economics, management, and statistics. These business courses are the cornerstone to a 4-year business degree from the following:
- Idaho State University
- University of Idaho
- Lewis Clark State College
- Boise State University
- Brigham Young University Idaho
- And many other universities
The Associate of Business from CEI is the jumpstart into a bachelor degree program to a transferrable university. The business degrees have a variety of specialization options such as: accounting, finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, and general business. The business program at CEI allows you to obtain the foundational business core classes so you can transfer at a junior-level into a 4-year bachelor business degree.
Program Requirements
- Pass Classes: Once accepted into the Business transfer program, students must pass their courses with a minimum grade of C- (70%) or higher.
Application Materials
Students must submit all of the following application materials for review.
- Application for admission
- Official High School/GED transcript
- Official transcripts from ALL colleges previously attended
- Math and English placement scores
Once all application materials are received, admissions will evaluate the student’s application to ensure it is correct and complete.
Program Costs
In addition to tuition and fees, students can expect to pay an estimated $1,200 for books and supplies.
Additional Information
- CEI is a Microsoft-based campus. As such, we strongly recommend that all hardware used for CEI classes (such as laptops) have the capability to run Microsoft software. All students have access to download Microsoft 365 software for free, including Word and Excel, which are used extensively in the Business and Industry. Chromebooks and iOS based are not recommended for the Business program.
