The Surgical Technology program prepares students to be essential allied health professionals on the surgical care team. Surgical technologists work under a surgeon’s supervision to ensure safe and effective surgical procedures. Their responsibilities include maintaining a safe operating room environment, ensuring that equipment functions correctly, and upholding patient safety standards. The Surgical Technology program teaches fundamentals in aseptic techniques, sterile procedures, human anatomy, surgical methods, and various tools and technologies, enabling graduates to assist physicians in performing surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
