This is a course in the physical and scientific principles fundamental to radiation protection. This course provides the theoretical background necessary to make informed decisions as a radiation control technician, The class focuses on applied physics, radiation production mechanisms, radioactivity and its properties, radiation interactions with matter, radiation quantities, units and measures, sources of radiation and exposure evaluation and shielding concepts.
