College of Eastern Idaho offers free, short-term counseling services to currently enrolled credit students. The goal of these services is to promote overall emotional well-being, as well as assist students in coping with concerns that interfere with their educational success. The Counseling Center provides therapeutic interventions for students struggling with a variety of concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, stress, or relationship concerns. All services are provided or overseen by licensed mental health professionals. All services are confidential with the exception of the expressed intent of harm to self or others.
For students that would benefit from additional interventions (e.g. long-term services, in-patient treatment), referrals can be made to local resources in the community. In addition, consultation services are provided to faculty and staff regarding student concerns about emotional health and well-being. Clinicians are unable to verify knowledge of a student or share any information regarding students, but general mental health expertise can be provided in these consultations.
