Welcome to the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at CEI! 

Our ADN program is designed to prepare aspiring nurses for a rewarding career in healthcare through a comprehensive curriculum, hands-on clinical experience, and personalized support from experienced faculty members. Whether you’re just starting your journey in nursing or seeking to advance your career, our program offers a dynamic learning environment that fosters growth, professionalism, and excellence in patient care. 

Key Features of Our ADN Program:

Courses cover a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child health, mental health nursing, and more.

  • Preparation for Licensure and Beyond: Upon successful completion of our ADN program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. We offer comprehensive NCLEX preparation resources and support to help students succeed on the exam and transition smoothly into the workforce. Additionally, our program lays the foundation for further education and career advancement in nursing.

There are three program options for the Registered Nursing Degree.

  • A full-time option 
    • Schedule: Classes and clinical sessions are held during the day. 
    • Program Length: Four semesters, with summers off. 
    • Application Deadlines: October 1st for Spring Semester start and March 1st for Fall Semester start. 
    • Admission: One cohort is admitted in both the spring and fall each year. 
  • An Alternative Schedule Option 
    • Schedule: Classes are held during weekday evenings.  Clinical sessions are typically held weekday days. 
    • Program Length: Six semesters, including summers. 
    • Application Deadlines: October 1st for spring semester start.
    • Admission: One cohort is admitted in the spring semester each year. ​
  • Bridge Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nursing (PN-RN) Option:
    • Application Deadline: March 1st for a summer semester start. 
    • Admission: One cohort is admitted in the summer semester per year.

Entrance Requirements

The Registered Nursing program options are competitive entry and applicants undergo a selection process. Submission of a Registered Nursing professional application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. There is no wait list for these programs. Applicants must reapply each application cycle for consideration.

ADN Program Application Deadlines and Requirements: 

  • Deadlines:
    • March 1 (Fall full-time & Summer bridge start).
    • October 1 (Spring full-time and alternative schedule start).
    • Submit applications by dealines for desired start term via application link.

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered; limited admissions annually.

Program Costs

In addition to tuition, a Registered Nursing (RN) student can expect to spend an approximate total of $6,000 on books, uniforms, supplies, criminal background check, and testing fees for the entire program.

Additional Information: 

  • Mandatory orientation attendance for accepted students. 
  • Nursing students must maintain a minimum of C+ (77%) in all courses and test averages to progress. 
  • Expect academically rigorous curriculum and course requirements. 
  • Clinical hours in diverse settings require students to be mentally and physically fit. 
  • Students will encounter blood-borne pathogens and infectious diseases and must adhere to OSHA regulations and CDC guidelines. 
  • For those pursuing a BSN or enrolled in BSN pathways, taking NUTR 239  instead ofHCT 125  is recommended and automatically approved. 

Accreditation:

The ADN program is operated with the approval of the Idaho State Board of Nursing. The student graduates with an Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in nursing and is required to pass a state licensure examination (RN-NCLEX) to become a registered nurse.

*In addition to these prerequisites, to apply to the program you MUST have valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EIRMC’s PCT Essentials, or have taken CEI’s Nursing 101 course with a minimum of a C+. 

**In addition to a minimum grade of C+ for each course, the combined GPA of semester 1 and 2 of the prerequisites (BIOL 228  and Lab excluded) must be a minimum of 3.0.
