SCI 100 - Ecosystems of Yellowstone National Park

This course will provide an introduction to the ecology and geology of Yellowstone National Park and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE). It is an intensive, field-based course which will occur within Yellowstone National Park and the immediate surroundings of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. We will focus on the interactions between living organisms and their physical, chemical and biological environments, to include the unique geology of the GYE. We will also investigate the geologic history of the Yellowstone Caldera, the processes responsible for its current state, and their relationship to global geological and biological processes of the past and present.
